The Government have confirmed that new funding will be allocated for the recruitment of 800 Gardai.
In an announcement as part of Budget 2022 the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath said a total of €145m will be allocated to thr justice sector this upcoming year.
It is understood that the funding will be used to recruit 800 new Garda officers and 400 garda civilian staff in 2022.
