Govt brag that six men found in container have been refused permission to enter country

Permission to enter the nation has been denied to six men who were part of a group found in a container at Rosslare Europort, reports RTE.

It is believed that the men and kids, who had arrived on a ship from Dunkirk, France, were discovered in the container at the port yesterday after being there for four days.

The nine individuals are thought to have been originated from East Africa and ranged in age from 16 to 23, reports RTE.

It is recognised that before sounding the alarm, they would have believed they were in Rosslare, waiting to be sent to another location.

The Gardaí have stated that six individuals were “refused leave to land in accordance with immigration legislation” after they started looking into a potential instance of people smuggling after the finding, reports RTE.

Tusla is caring for two people who are thought to be kids, and one man has requested international protection.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police Confidential Line at 1800 66 11 or get in touch with the police at Wexford Garda Station at 053-9165200, reports RTE.
