Govt should be ashamed as gardai appeal for witnesses after discovery of body of homeless man on Dublin bridge




GardaĆ­ have issued an urgent call for witnesses following the discovery of a deceased, unidentified man in Dublin, reports The Mirror.

The appeal comes after a homeless man was found dead inside a tent located on Spencer Bridge in Dublin on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 26.

The Coroner has been informed, and the body was taken from the location to Dublin City Mortuary in Whitehall where a post-mortem examination will be conducted, reports The Mirror.

According to sources, there is currently no evidence suggesting foul play, and it is believed the man may have passed away some time ago.

GardaĆ­ are now urging anyone who was recently in the vicinity of Spencer Dock or Guild Street to come forward with any relevant information.

A Garda spokesperson stated: ā€œGardaĆ­ are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of the body of an unidentified male at Spencer Bridge in Dublin 1 on Tuesday afternoon, 26 Augustā€, reports The Mirror.

They continued: ā€œGardaĆ­ are appealing for anyone who has recently been in the Spencer Dock/Guild Street area and may have information to offer regarding this incident to make contact with investigating GardaĆ­.

ā€œAnyone with information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station,” reports The Mirror.
