On RTE’s This week in Politics, Green Party minister Ossian Smyth announced that Irish auctioneers will be used to inspect “host homes” around the country to ensure they meet a minimum standard fit for Ukrainian refugees.
Minister Smyth did not say how much auctioneers will receive to inspect an estimated 20,000 host homes.
Many people on social media have been stating that there’s next to no vetting taking place for Ukrainian refugees coming into Ireland and that people who aren’t even Ukrainian at all are getting into Ireland, receiving a medical card and being given full social welfare payments.
