A specialist doctor working at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has said that ‘up to 20,000 people living in Ireland could be infected with coronavirus within weeks’, according to an article published by the Irish Mirror.
The specialist, names as Professor Sam McConkey, did soften the blow by adding that the Irish health system ‘can survive’ the outbreak, despite hospitals being at breaking point as it is due to chronic overcrowding.
The coronavirus has already claimed 170 lives and infected over 6,000 people worldwide.
