There are growing fears amongst parents in Cork city recently after an eleven child discovered four bags of heroin in the Mahon area recently.
According to The Evening Echo, the young child brought the large quantity of heroin back to his house, before his parents turned it over to the Gardaí.
Gardaí say the large discovery comes after there has been a number of drug use incidents reported in the area. They say they have received reports of Drug parties being held in the area, with one house in particular being known to them.
The growing concerns are believed to be escalating in recent weeks after a number of concerned residents reported syringes and other drug related items being thrown into their back gardens.
Gardaí say they are currently conducting an investigation into the incidents and are urging local residents to report anything suspicious or unusual in their area.
