The Inland Revenue have issued a warning to the public about a new email phishing scam that is targeting the public to provide their credit/debit card details.
According to Revenue Commissioners the fraudulent emails and text messages claim to offer a tax refund in return for their credit/debit card details.
Revenue officials the email is sent from the following [email protected] email address and comtains legitimate Revenue logos and colours on the statement.
All recipients of the email or text are urged to ignore and delete it right away, officials also say anyone who provided their credit/debit card details should contact their bank immediately.
