The public have been advised to follow Government guidelines to ensure that the spread of Covid-19 is stopped.
Speaking this evening Dr Kevin Nolan said that the day to day growth rate has once again fallen due to the measures which implemented almost two weeks ago.
Dr Nolan said that the day to day growth rate now stands at 9% compared to over 30% when the outbreak began here.
However Dr Nolan warned that rate needs to be down to nearly 0% in order to contain the spread of the virus.
The latest figures have shown some positive news in terms of tackling the virus, but Dr Nolan warned that the public must do its part by continuing to adhere to social distancing measures.
