The Garda Ombudsman Commission have launched an investigation after a man was killed in a single vehicle collision in North Dublin this morning.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man aged in his 40s was killed in the collision which occurred at Fairview Park, in the early hours of this morning.
The incident also seen a woman aged in her 40s and a 13 year old boy injured in the crash.
Gardaí say the woman is currently in critical condition in Dublin’s Mater Hospital and the boy is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
According to RTÉ News, it is believed the van they were travelling in collided with fencing after it left the scene of a routine Garda stop.
A Garda spokesman confirmed that GSOC are currently investigating the incident.
