Hackers broke into a popular Russian taxi-hailing app and sent dozens of vehicles to the same location in Moscow, leading to a biblical traffic jam and wasted resources.
Yandex Taxi was easily hacked by a team of international operatives who were able to direct dozens upon dozens of taxi drivers to the same place: Kutuzovsky Prospekt, a major thoroughfare in Moscow, and the site of Hotel Ukraine.
The traffic jam took hours to clear. Probably wasn’t a great day for motorists in the Russian capital today.
