People power is in force today outside the Dail. A crowd is gathering, adhering to social distancing, outside the Dail over Minister for Children Roderic O’Gorman’s “sick social media posts”, as they’ve been described by social media users.
A number of political parties along with concerned individual citizens have come together to organise a “Hands Off Our Kids Rally” to demand that Roderic O’Gorman be removed from his new position as Minister for Children.
The rally is scheduled to take place on Kildare Street today at 2pm on Saturday, and is set to feature a number of independent speakers including actor and traveller’s rights activist John Connors.
The rally has been organised in the wake of the controversy over Minister O’Gorman’s alleged association with Peter Tatchell who has been accused of being a paedophilia apologist and working to lower the age of consent.

The parties involved in helping to organise the rally include the Irish Freedom Party which said in a public statement:
“You’re invited to support “Hands off our kids” Rally on Saturday 11th July at 2pm. Outside the Dáil. A variety of speakers will be confirmed soon.
Minister for Children, Roderic O’Gorman by lauding paedophilia- promoting Peter Tatchell, is not fit for office and must be sacked.”
As well as Renua which has called on all right-thinking members of the public to support the rally to demand a “zero tolerance approach to anyone who supports, defends, ignores or protects paedophiles or paedophilia”.
