Gardai have came out to reassure the public that they have everything under control – or so they try and tell us.
The Metropolitan police have been lauded for not only responding, but having all 3 Islamic terrorists “down and out” within 8 minutes of receiving the first emergency phone call.
The people of Ireland know we are not exempt to such evil and cowardly attacks but are the gardai prepared?
Speaking today, the Deputy Commissioner John Twomey said that the gardai ran a paper test and that they could respond to the same sort of terrorism as what happened in London at the weekend in the same time they did.
But that only applies to central Dublin – questions have to asked and more importantly answered about towns and cities, even villages scattered around the country. What sort of response time do they see?
