Harris claims publicans who operate during the coronavirus outbreak could have difficulty renewing their licence in the future

Both the HSE and government had pleaded with pub owners to close their premise indefinitely until the covid-19 outbreak is sorted out.

The Minister for Health Simon Harris has said that publicans who continue to operate during the Coronavirus outbreak could face problems in renewing their licence in the future.

Speaking this evening Harris said that all pubs and nightclubs must follow the clear guidelines that were set out by Government.

Although the Health Minister thanked those who have closed their doors he did state that he has become aware of a few premises that are not following public health advice.

He added that it was highly important to implement such measures in order to halt the spread of the virus.
