The Minister for Health Simon Harris has confirmed that the HSE will introduce a number of innovative measures for its Winter Ready plan.
In announcement made on Monday, Mr Harris said a budget of €30m has been allocated for the plan this coming winter.
Under the proposals discussed at the Emergency Taskforce, the HSE confirmed that a number of ‘winter ready’ clinics will be setup to help tackle the overcrowding at the nations A&E departments.
It is understood the clinics will allow for people to get a check up and recieve the flu vaccine.
The plans could also see primary care clinics having extended opening hours to help assist with elderly patients who usually present at A&E departments over the winter months.
Mr Harris said further information about the Winter Ready plan will be released in the coming weeks ahead.
