Harris not happy: Fine Gael absolutely plummets in latest poll to just 16%

Sinn Féin has reclaimed its spot as the country’s most popular political party, securing 26 per cent support in the latest opinion poll, reports Breaking News.

The new Irish Times/Ipsos survey reveals a lack of voter enthusiasm for the recently formed Government.

This marks the first poll since the new administration took office and brings positive news for Sinn Féin, though the results are more mixed for the Coalition, reports Breaking News.

Sinn Féin’s support has surged by six points to 26 per cent, while Fine Gael has dropped by three points to 16 per cent — its lowest rating in an opinion poll since 1994.

Fianna Fáil holds steady at 22 per cent, with the Social Democrats on 7 per cent and Labour at 5 per cent, reports Breaking News.

Micheál Martin remains the most popular party leader, followed by Simon Harris and Mary Lou McDonald.

The Taoiseach enjoys a solid 45 per cent approval rating, a rise of one point. Tánaiste and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris follows at 42 per cent, down four points, reports Breaking News.

Mary Lou McDonald places third with a 37 per cent satisfaction rating, though that reflects a six-point gain for the Sinn Féin leader.

One of the most striking results is that 64 per cent of respondents disapproved of the Coalition’s deal with Independent TD Michael Lowry.

Just 39 per cent of voters said they were satisfied with the Government, while 51 per cent expressed dissatisfaction, reports Breaking News.
