Minister for health Simon Harris has said that the government wants to find a solution to the nurses strike but said that the government was on the tightrope in regards to a solution because they must respect the public service stability agreement.
Harris was speaking on last night’s Six 1 News n RTE and said that along with the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe that they want a solution in regards agreement.
Harris said that the department had outlined a number of measures that they put into place to address the concerns of the nurses in relation to their appalling working conditions and reinstating the pay that they are owed. Harris went on to say that the government would not tear up the public service stability agreement and that they will not do this.
Harris said all parties should get back to the workplace relations commission and try to see if they can come up with a resolution that work for both the nurses and midwives.
It appears however that the government have literally no idea how to solve the nurses strike crisis.
It appears that they care as much about the nurses as they do about patients languishing on trolleys around the country.
