Have you noticed? Food prices are up an estimated 4.6% in July




According to newly released data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), food prices are believed to have increased by 4.6% over the past year, reports RTE.

The CSO also noted that food prices went up by 0.2% in the last month.

In its flash estimate on inflation published today, the CSO reported that the overall cost of living rose by 1.6% in the year leading up to July, the same rate as in the previous 12-month period, reports RTE.

Across eurozone countries, there was a 2% annual rise in prices during the 12 months ending in June 2025.

In Ireland, energy prices are estimated to have increased by 1.5% over the last month but have declined by 0.3% in the year to July, reports RTE.

The CSO also stated that the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, which excludes both energy and unprocessed food, is estimated to have risen by 1.7% since July 2024.
