Hayfever sufferers and asthmatics urged to take extra precautions this year for pollen count

Who doesn’t love and enjoy the sun, as rare as it is here in Ireland. However, people with allergies need to be very careful in it too.

With coronavirus, people are advised to take even more precautions this year.

Hayfever sufferers and asthmatics have been advised to take extra precautions as the pollen count grows for the vast majority of the country today and tomorrow.

Parts of Leinster, Ulster and Connacht will experience high pollen counts today and tomorrow.

It’s believed the latest high level warning, comes as the recent warm and humid weather conditions prompted grass and plant pollen to rise significantly.

High pollen can be particularly irritating to hayfever sufferers as symptoms include, itchy eyes, face swelling, runny nose, sneezing and a sore throat.

Those who suffer from both conditions are advised to take their prescribed medication.
