Health inspection underway after Galway Hospital forced to shut its kitchen after a dead mouse was found

A major health inspection is underway at University Hospital Galway after it was confirmed that it was forced to close its kitchen after a dead mouse was found.

The hospital confirmed that the kitchens were closed after a single dead mouse was found during a routine inspection.

It is believed that the mouse was found after bait was found to have been tampered with.

The hospital say all inspections Sunday have been clear, but food preparations have been moved to Merlin Park University Hospital.
