A female healthcare worker has been arrested on suspicion of her involvement in the deaths of at least eight babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Cheshire.
It is understood that the deaths, which occurred between June 2015 and June 2016, were considered as ‘unexplained’ and ‘unexpected’ at the time.
The individual’s involvement in seven other cases of suspicious health issues affecting babies at the same facility is also being investigated.
