A Co Carlow man has shown a true act of kindness recently after he donated €5,000 worth of Lidl vouchers to The Simon Community.

The man with the heart of gold Darragh Muldoon, showed the nation that charity is more important than his own needs when he gave the tidy sum of €5,000 vouchers after winning €5,200 worth of Lidl vouchers on 2fm yesterday afternoon. Mr Muldoon’s giving nature didnt stop there however as he revealed that he planned to spend the remainder of the money on buying ice-creams for his whole office.

The kind and generous donation was welcomed by Niamh Randall from the Simon Community who said that they are “absolutely delighted” about Mr Muldoon’s kind donation. She further explained “Especially at this time, when there are 6,000 people in emergency services in Ireland, we really do appreciate it.”

The Simon Community are well known for their humanitarian work they carry out throughout Ireland, the charity actively help vulnerable people who are experiencing homelessness and those at risk.

What true gentleman. Fair play to this man for helping those less fortunate than him.
