Gardaí in Co Mayo have sadly confirmed that a 5-year-old boy has died after being found in a stream close to his home in Ballina.
According to RTÉ News, the young boy was found after he went missing earlier today.
Gardaí say the boy was found at Childers Heights, and was rushed to Mayo University Hospital.
However he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
