Gardaí in Dublin have sadly confirmed that a 7-year-old boy has died following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood the boy was hit by a truck on St Joseph’s Way in Ballymun at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon.
Although he was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital, he was sadly pronounced dead this evening.
Gardaí say the driver of the truck was uninjured in the incident.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
