The treasurer of a local football team says the whole community is mourning the deaths of a teenager and a man in his 20s in a road accident in Levallyroe, Co. Mayo.

Cloonfad United FC treasurer Dermot Burke said the situation “just mindnumbing” adding that locals were down “enjoying a football match that was going to go ahead last night, and what unfolded was unbelievable”, reports RTE

The crash between a tractor and a car happened on the N83 after 8pm last night.

RTE reports that James Daniels, 14, and Harry Fagan, 19, were fatally injured.

Another teenager, believed to be 17, was seriously injured and is being treated in hospital.

The three were the occupants of the car.

The driver of the tractor, a man in his 50s, is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
