Gardaí in Co Cork have sadly confirmed that a 16-year-old girl who was seriously injured in a road traffic incident on Monday, has passed away in hospital.
The young girl who was being treated at Cork University Hospital following the incident, sadly passed away earlier today.
It is understood the girl was seriously injured after she was struck by a car on Main Street in Ballincollig at approximately 7.45pm on Monday 31 December.
Gardaí say the driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the incident and an investigation is currently ongoing.
