The community of Jobstown has vowed to stand by the family of a baby boy who sadly lost his life in a road traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon, reports The Mirror.
Gardaà and emergency responders were called to the scene outside a home in Rathmintin, Jobstown, at approximately 2pm. The baby boy was taken from the scene to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, where he was later pronounced dead.
People Before Profit Councillor Kay Keane, a Jobstown resident, said the local community will naturally be there to support the family during this heartbreaking period.
She told Dublin Live: “What happened is an awful, awful tragedy. My heart is broken for the family. It is such a terrible thing to happen in our community. I’m heartbroken and shocked. I’m sending my condolences to the family. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through,” reports The Mirror.
Dominics Parish Tallaght said online: “We remember in our prayers today the young boy who died tragically in Jobstown yesterday. We keep him and his families in our thoughts as we go about our day,” reports The Mirror.
The local Tallaght and District Credit Union also said in a tribute: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of such a young life taken too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all that were lucky to be part of his short but beautiful life,” reports The Mirror.
Gardaà confirmed that a Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to assist the family, and that Forensic Collision Investigators have since carried out a technical examination of the scene.
