Heartbreaking: Mayo GAA club release touching statement about David Gavin who is missing in Canada




The GAA club connected to missing Mayo man David Gavin released a very touching statement on their Facebook page.

Tragically, David is still missing since he was last seen swimming on Friday in Canada where he is currently residing.

He dived off a bridge in British Columbia on Friday afternoon but is said to have not made his way back to land since.

The 26-yr-old played football with Breaffy GAA club and Mayo in the 2008 All Ireland Minor final, who posted the following statement on their Facebook page.

“Breaffy GAA are heartbroken to report that our good friend David Gavin is reported missing in Canada following a swimming incident.

“We stand with David’s family, girlfriend and his many worried friends and pray that David will be found soon and back in the safe arms of those who love him so much.

“You are all welcome to join us for a special Mass of support at Breaffy GAA Clubhouse on Wednesday 5th of July at 9.30pm.”
