They may have successfully defended their All-Ireland hurling title on Sunday afternoon but players from All Ireland Champions Kilkenny carried on the celebrations yesterday afternoon as they visited the children at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
Following their victory celebrations in the capital on Sunday night a number of players decided to stay in the City and treat the patients at the hospital with visit with the Liam McCarthy trophy. It is understood that team captain Lester Ryan, along with manager Brian Cody as well as players Cillian Buckley and Kieran Joyce posed for photos with the children on the wards.
The heart touching moment was an unexpected surprise for the kids and staff at the hospital, it is understood the all Ireland winning heroes stayed a number of hours before returning to welcome reception in Kilkenny City.
