Heat warning remains in place as temperatures keep rising beyond 30C

A Status Yellow warning for extreme heat (for Ireland) remains in place, as temperatures are set to surpass 30C today and tomorrow.

It emerged yesterday that the intense and sustained heat has caused tar to melt around a number of roads, prompting emergency repairs.

The outlook is for fine, dry, and settled weather to continue into the weekend, and possibly the early part of next week.
