Heavy snowfall across Co. Donegal overnight has prompted the closure of a number of schools in the area.
Hundreds of households and premises have also been left without power. ESB crews are working to restore electricity to all affected.
Met Eireann has warned of cold and unsettled conditions for most of this week, with temperatures remaining in single figures, and further snowfalls likely.
