Many people are saying that Ireland has gone to hell in a handcart with its latest crime figures, with large numbers of people blaming the Minister for Justice Helen McEntee.
Gardai have launched an investigation following an aggravated burglary in which a 94-yr-old woman and her two sons were held hostage by a gang of six thugs.
The incident happened at a business premises in Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, on Monday morning.
It is understood that six men armed with screwdrivers broke into the premises and shoved the trio into a room while the house was being ransacked. The raiders made good their escape with a sum of money.
