Around 500 people slept outside the Dail and on Molesworth St last night. The location marked the doorway where a homeless man died in the cold while sleeping rough earlier this year.

The action group called “Help 4 The Homeless” sang songs and drank tea, soup and ate sandwiches to pass the night away.

One activist told The Liberal “We don’t realise how blessed we are to have a roof over our heads at night. We’re just doing this for one night, but everyone else you see on the streets, they’re doing that every night of the year. The government need to wake up and realise the depth of the homeless problem, Enda Kenny doesn’t care about these people because he doesn’t need their vote. We need to help them and get them all housed for the cold winter ahead”.
