Two girls were lucky enough to escape after being rescued on Tuesday afternoon when they were swept into the sea on an inflatable bed.
The children were playing on the inflatable mattress at Clonea Beach in Co Waterford when strong winds swept them several hundred meters from where they entered the water.
The alarm was raised just after midday today and the Chief of Helvick RNLI launched his Coastal Lifeboat at the request of the Irish Coastguard.
However, the children were rescued by beach lifeguards on duty and brought safely to shore.
