The funeral for Caitriona Lucas, the volunteer coastguard who sadly lost her life while on the line of duty last Monday, will be laid to rest today.
Ms. Lucas is the first serving member of the Irish Coast Guard to lose her life while on duty. She died when the boat she was working from capsized during a rescue effort.
There was a large crowd in attendance at the Liscannor church in Co. Clare where the funeral mass for the 41-year-old mother of two was held.
