The crew of the Irish Navy vessel LÉ James Joyce has rescued 155 people from the perilous Mediterranean Sea.
The seafaring migrants were rescued in two separate operations, co-ordinated by the Italian Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre.
It is understood that 25 migrants were rescued from a wooden vessel that was drifting across an area north west of the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
During a second operation, the crew rescued 130 people from a rubber vessel.
All migrants are now been cared for by authorities.
