The Irish Navy vessel LÉ James Joyce took part in three separate rescue operations around the Mediterranean Sea yesterday, rescuing over 400 migrants.
Twenty-five people were rescued from a wooden vessel, 130 were rescued from a rubber craft and a further 278 were rescued from a second rubber vessel.
The vessel is due to refuel and resupply, then it will return to the theatre of operations around the Mediterranean.
