He’s going nowhere: Ibrahim Halawa’s Muslim Brotherhood trial has been postponed again, he won’t be coming back to Ireland any time soon

It appears that the desperate pleas and begging from Leo Varadkar have amounted to absolutely nothing in Egypt as Ibrahim Halawa’s trial has been postponed yet again for at least a further three weeks.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has confirmed that the case has been adjouned until September 18th.

Coveney voiced his frustration but assured the taxpaying Irish public that the Irish government will do everything they can to bring Halawa back to Ireland.

Halawa was jailed after being arrested for his involvement in the Muslim Brotherhood protest in Cairo in August 2013.

Supporters of Halawa are said to be devastated by the ruling, however it is a sense of a devastation that could never be on a par with that felt by the parents of little Christian children beheaded by the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East.
