An inquest into the 1989 Hillsborough disaster has found that 96 football fans who died that day were ‘unlawfully killed.’
The jury deliberated on issues like police planning before the game, stadium safety, and the emergency services’ response times, and it ruled that the fans’ behavior did not contribute to the disaster in any way.
The victims ranged in age from 10 to 67, including 37 teenagers and 26 parents.
