People on social media have been commenting that not enough coverage has been given to a “harmless” homeless gentleman who sadly lost his life earlier this week.
In what can only be described as truly heartbreaking, Ireland lost another homeless man to the street’s this week after he was found dead sleeping in his tent.
It’s truly disgraceful to see the government allow this to happen, especially given the fact that they’re about to house some 200,000 Ukrainians while our own are left to die on the streets without providing the help and housing that those Irish people so desperately require.
Many on social media are saying that we should be looking after our own first long before any Ukrainians are giving housing.
A homeless helping group has organised a vigil outside the Dail tonight at 7:30pm to remember Thomas, the latest homeless Irishman to die on the streets. They want to remember Thomas as a person and not just a statistic.
The vigil attendees are asked to gather outside the Dail entrance from 7pm.
