Holidaymakers are being warned of heatwave conditions across southern Europe, with temperatures surpassing 40C at times.
Parts of Italy, Spain, and Greece will experience very high temperatures for the coming days. Thermometers are likely to come within a whisker of 45C in some locations.
Some areas of north Africa have experienced temperatures of 49-50C in recent days.
