The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan is demanding that the public must continue to follow public health advice as the recent rise in cases is very concerning.
Holohan also warned Northern Ireland that they must start listening to him.
Speaking following the arrival of Ireland’s first batch of Covid-19 vaccine’s, Dr Holohan said that although the arrival of the vaccine was positive we must not relax our adherence to public health measures.
The Chief Medical Officer also said that we must continue to follow public health advice by staying at home and avoiding social contact.
He added that people should avoid visiting friends and family and they should not have visitors to their homes.
Holohan’s comments come as numbers rose again over the past number of days.
