The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan is said to be both “concerned” and “troubled” at the latest covid numbers and how they’ve growing over the past week.
Holohan and NPHET will be advising the government before the next cabinet meeting where there’ll be drip-feeding information as to what, if anything else, needs to be done.
The CMO said that there is a persistent and ongoing concern that the HSE may not be able to cope if the health service comes under severe strain and wouldn’t be able to cope if the numbers get too high.
