Dr Tony Holohan said that Covid-19 remains highly contagious and it thrives in crowds.
The chief medical officer said that it needs to have a capacity to ramp up preservation if the virus starts to spread again. Holohan said that people who had been cocooning had contributing an awful lot to helping Ireland beat coronavirus.
But he issued caution for people to go back to normal by saying that restrictions would be re-imposed if people don’t adhere to social distancing and other guidelines.
Holohan has also reiterated that there is no chance of weddings or mass gatherings taking place any time in the near future.
