The Department of Housing has confirmed that homeless families will be given free transport next month.
In an announcement made today the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy, confirmed that homeless family Leap Card users will be entitled to free travel for the month of August.
Although the service is already offered to parents during school months, it is has been confirmed that the scheme has been extended on a one off basis.
Meanwhile it is believed that the Government will consider extending the scheme throughout the year in the upcoming Budget.
