He has been the star of many movie greats and directed numerous award winning movies but veteran actor-director and on screen legend Clint Eastwood has most likely pulled of his biggest coup in recent years as he has somehow reportedly persuaded Hollywood’s most famous lady Doris Day, to come out of retirement to take part in another big screen adventure.
It has been reported that Dirty Harry star(Clint) approached his neighbor and close friend Calamity Jane(Day) with a script that she couldn’t refuse. According to Germany’s leading tabloid Bild Day was that impressed with the role on offer she gratefully accepted it in a matter of minutes, if the rumors are true it will be Day’s first film role in almost half a century.
Day’s acceptance of the role has come as a bit of surprise to many in Hollywood as she retired a number of years back and has been rarely seen in public since, although she has publicly stated that she devotes her time to her own animal welfare charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Many believe if Day was to appear on the big screen once again it would be down to Eastwood’s persuasion as they are very good friends.
However various reports suggest that Eastwood didn’t have it all his own way as Day drove a hard bargain and only agreed to the project on two conditions, they are thought to be that the film will be shot around Carmel, and that a cut of the profits goes to her animal fund.
