Hopes of a White Christmas are revived, as Met Eireann says that sleet and snow could fall on some areas during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Snow lovers could be in luck after all, as Met Eireann predicts that sleet and snow could begin to fall as early as tomorrow, Christmas Eve, and continue on through St. Stephen’s Day.

Christmas Eve is expected to be cold and frosty, with some wintry showers on higher ground.

A band of heavy rain will spread overnight on, leading to a wet and windy Christmas Day, with light snowfalls possible in coastal counties.

Cold weather will continue on St. Stephen’s Day, with clear spells mixed with showers, some of them wintry.
