Horrific: A man has been left scarred for life after horrific mugging today in Dublin

Simon Cleary was walking near the Tallaght Luas stop near Belgard Square when a gang of three evil thugs attacked the defenceless man.

The hooligans kicked, stamped, punched and slapped the 44-yr-old before robbing his wallet and two mobile phones.

It’s believed the Clontarf man put up a fight but the 3 cowards overpowered him and punched him to the ground.

Disgracefully, taxi drivers wouldn’t stop to help poor Simon so he had to walk home where his wife Patricia brought him immediately to hospital.

Today, Patricia posted the following on Facebook:

“I’d like to warn everyone to be very careful up at the Tallaght Luas stop and Civic Theatre area.

“Simon was robbed and beaten up last night by three young lads.

“They followed him from the Luas as he was walking to the road to get a taxi. They tried grabbing his phone off him as he was texting me and he said, ‘Get lost’.

“They punched him in the back of the head, kicked him to the ground and they stood on his face.

“He has the imprint of a runner or shoe on his forehead. They punched him a few times and took his wallet and two phones.

“He’s going to be left with scars and had to get stitches.

“It’s disgusting to think you’re not safe in your own area.”
