Two people have now been confirmed dead along with eleven others seriously injured after a gunman opened fire at a Christmas Market in the French city of Strasbourg yesterday evening.

The entire city centre was evacuated with police eventually cornering a man who was known to them. The man aged in his late 20s is also said to have been involved in a robbery earlier in the city, but this has not yet been confirmed.
Police are releasing an official statement later this morning.
