A champion bodybuilder has tragically died after he broke his neck when he tried to perform a black-flip during a competition in South Afica recently.
The man who has horrified millions after a video surfaced online Sifiso Lungelo Thabete, reportedly died after he landed on his head whilst trying to perform the difficult black-flip.
It is understood Thabete, who was a former junior world bodybuilding champion, remained motionless on the floor following the incident which was performed in front of an onlooking crowd.
The devastating story which was originally published in the bodybuilding magazine Muscle Evolution has since become world news after a video of the horrific moment was uploaded on YouTube.
In a brief tribute to Thabete the magazine said: “The bodybuilding community was shocked and saddened by the tragic news of the death of Sifiso Lungelo Thabete, a bodybuilder from Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal, at the weekend.”
“He impressed the crowd and the judges with unbelievable muscle size and maturity beyond his age.”
Meanwhile police authorities in Durban have confirmed Thabete’s funeral service will be held at K Section Hall in the city on Saturday.
