It has been reported that five teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl while she was unconscious.
Gardai carried out the arrests as they went to five homes in South Dublin area to detain the boys, one of whom is young as 14. The alleged incident is believed to have happened in March this year, in Knocklyon, South Dublin
It is understood that two suspects were held at Rathfarnham Garda Station, whilst two more were detained at Tallaght Garda Station, and the other was held at Terenure Garda Station.
The young girl is thought to have met the group of young Dublin males and along with some other friends, they are then believed to have went back to her house. She apparently drank alcohol and went upstairs to lie down as she felt sick.
It’s alleged that the five teens then followed her to her room and raped her while she was unconscious. It is thought that the young girl’s mother found out about the horrific incident a few days later, she then proceeded to alert the gardai about the attack.
The five youths have since been released on bail, and a file has been prepared for the Director of Public Prosectutions.
